Fortress

This fortress I have built for my heart
Needs someone to love.
Needs someone to remove each nail
Gently one by one.

Needs another heart who will take down the walls.
Needs another heart who understands
What it's like to be cheated and lied to.

This heart needs a soul
That understands
That is willing to take down this fortress
That has been locked behind this wall.

Because this heart is ready to love
But needs an understanding soul
That will be gentle
That will be caring
That is ready to build and not play
Around.
